Hello Iron House!

It was wonderful to have you all together today for our first Iron House meeting for the term.

Student Wellbeing

Our House Meeting today was mostly focussed on the recent Student Wellbeing survey. As your deans, we have been poring over the results of this and spending time trying to learn more.

We have run a couple of focus groups, one with a random selection of Iron House students, and one with Rangitahi Māori, in order to delve deeper into the results of the survey – but we want your voice too! Today’s meeting was devoted to that; we presented you with some of the more significant themes from the survey and asked you to give us advice as to where we can improve.

Your response to this was awesome. We will be collating this and will send you all a summary of this soon, but right now we want to reaffirm that we are always very eager to hear from you if you have challenges or concerns – no matter how big or small. You can speak to us in person, or email us any time.

Outstanding Fortnightly Grades – Term Three

The following outstanding students have achieved perfect fortnightly grades for the whole of Term 3 so far. These students gained a 4 from every teacher for every week this term:

Julie Autet, Maggie Miller, Oscar Sharpe and Douglas Wise.

House Singing Competition

Next term we have our house singing competition. We may not have a lot of time to work on this together with the whole house, so Emma is going to produce a video where she demonstrates the choreography so you’re able to learn the song – and the moves – over the holiday break. You can get together with your friends and master the performance before we see you next. There’ll be some opportunities to practice with your Whanau too!

Have a great rest this holiday break – we look forward to seeing you in Term 4!
